GW 2023 Career Exploration EXPO

Fri, 10 February, 2023 12:00pm - 4:00pm

The GW 2023 Career Exploration EXPO is a student-led initiative, engaging both undergraduate and graduate students to explore possible career opportunities. In partnership with the Center for Career Services, this event will provide attendees with the chance to find potential jobs or internships and is a great way to network with employers.

The EXPO will be held over two days to accommodate virtual and in-person formats. Please note that different employers will participate in each day of the fair. Ensure that you note which employers are participating virtually, in-person, or both.

  • Thursday, February 9, 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. EST - Virtual
  • Friday, February 10, 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. EST - In-Person

*This fair is only open to George Washington University students and alumni.

Resume Drops:

The Center for Career Services utilizes resume drops so that students may submit their resumes directly to employers participating in career fairs. Students may submit their resumes to the resume drops regardless of whether or not they attend the fair. (Note: Resume drops are not jobs. They are simply a way to ensure an employer has your resume for review after a fair.

To participate in the resume drop:

  1. Review the resume drops, available in the Jobs section of Handshake.
  2. Click on the resume drop for an employer you'd like to submit your resume to.
  3. Click "Apply" and select the resume you would like to submit (Note: you'll need to have uploaded your resume into Handshake before submitting.)
  4. Repeat for all employers of interest.

How to Prepare for a Fair:

  1. Research companies you’ll be meeting with during the fair and draft questions to discuss with recruiters. Learn more about preparing for your conversation with recruiters using our guide specifically for GW students.
  2. Update your resume with your most recent experiences and accomplishments. Review GW’s Resume Guides for tips on crafting strong resumes.
  3. Make sure you’re camera-ready by planning your attire for the fair and considering what’s visible behind you during your sessions.
