In the article “NASA Space Station Research Takes A Cancer Focus,” Aviation Week reported on the five research projects addressing cancer and other disease-related health threats that NASA and the International Space Station (ISS) National Laboratory will be funding. In a photo, they showed GW Engineering alumna Serena Auñon-Chancellor, B.S. ‘97, at the ISS with the caption, “NASA astronaut Serena Auñon-Chancellor works on Angiex Cancer Therapy, a study testing a safer, more effective treatment that targets tumor cells and blood vessels.”
