Prof. Ahmed Louri and his graduate student Pavan Poluri have published a paper : “Shield: A Reliable Network-on-Chip Router Architecture for Chip Multiprocessors,” in IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, October 2016. Their work is sponsored by a grant from the National Science Foundation and presents novel and efficient techniques for making future multicore chips more reliable. This work will open the path for scaling future fault-tolerant multicore chips and parallel computing systems.
