Professor Ahmed Louri and his research team have published a seminal paper on the use of machine learning in the design of next generation photonic interconnects with applications to high-performance computing. The paper titled: Extending the Performance and Power-Efficiency of Photonic Interconnects with Machine Learning” was presented at the 24th IEEE International Symposium on High-Performance Computer Architecture (HPCA), February 24-28 2018, Vienna, Austria. HPCA is the premier and flagship conference for IEEE Computer Society. The research is sponsored by the National Science Foundation.
